Mr Adel Y Fattah is an experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeon, working in the NHS at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool. Graduating from Cambridge, he has undertaken extensive training in plastic surgery in London and North America with both nationally and internationally recognised experts in the field. This included Craniofacial training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the internationally renowned Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, where he originally trained in facial palsy reconstruction.
Since returning to the UK he has been committed to facial palsy management and specifically the care of the child with Moebius syndrome. His research is widely published, has been presented internationally and been awarded numerous prizes. He is an advocate of holistic care of the Moebius child in which surgery has a place but is not the “cure”. He runs facial palsy clinics and together with his team has a Moebius multidisciplinary clinic that runs four times a year and includes speech and language therapy, psychology, genetics and a nurse specialist.
