Dr Emma Waite (she/her), based at the Centre for Appearance Research contacted us in March in connection to doctoral research exploring the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people with visible differences.
The charity support this through sharing the link for her online survey with our supporters. Specifically it was open to to anyone 15-24 years old who self-identifies as part of an LGBTQIA+ community and as having an appearance-affecting condition, injury, or treatment effect. The questions focused on participants’ experiences as LGBTQIA+ young people with visible differences, and their thoughts and feelings about these.
Now the survey has been completed and the summary of her findings are here.
